website updated

Since I thought that now really someone might read my website, I took myself some time to update, rewrite the things on it. Real renovation has to wait a bit still. :) — read more ›

Mail.app annoyance pt. xy

Just spent at least 1.5 hours just in reactivating my system because Apple is still not able to create a proper Mail.app. Since ages they know about its problems but they dont get fixed and that just pisses me off. That is why I will now also spread the word here… and also to vent my anger at that company that usually creates so good software. — read more ›

adieu pieter

Unusual for me, this time a good friend of mine left. Pieter, my neighbour and good friend, boarded the Stena Line boat to Kiel. Usually I am leaving, not this time. It was a great time we had together and the departure came – as always – by far too fast. — read more ›

job hunt

After training, watching a pretty good film for few bucks and having a nice dinner incl. discussion with my neighbours I will continue with my hunt for thesis jobs. Had a few phone calls in the afternoon to find out contacts, one more call now and then the writing of applications. Yay. — read more ›

waiting for godot

Here I sit now waiting for a call, playing around with a new weblog posting widget that seems to be working fine, talking to my mom on ICQ and writing a home examination (essay). :) — read more ›

florida

So we were yesterday at this (afterwork with) talk by Richard Florida. Was really interesting, well the Swedish shoulder-padding “we’re number one creative country in the world, but no time to lean back” fore-play was annoying since even those people seemed to misunderstad his message – at least as far as I could tell. He seemed to have written a couple of good books, however after that talk I will not buy one since he explained his interesting idea (“The well-being of a region depends on it’s possibilities to harvest its inhabitants’ capabilities and give them purpose.”), which somehow sounds pretty logical and obvious as soon as you heard it, so from there on you can make your own opinion. Then he was talking a bit about the creative revolution that has started a couple of years ago and will change our world again. Hot stuff. So if you have the chance to listen to him somewhere, do it. Really good talker, even if his body language was not that secure. :) — read more ›

blog drive-thru

Once again a lot of time has passed since the last entry and I don’t know where the time disappeared. Maybe in the new omnline gallery software I am using. Maybe at the student conference I was volunteering at last weekend (Feb. 25). Maybe in the time between that I spend mailing different people, organising smaller things and doing other administrivialities. Then we also spent some time on different exercises and paper discussions that actually were kinda useless…. information overload. The course on analysis was pretty boring and useless IMHO – in the same way as economics lectures feel. The project course on IxD will be fun soon since we start now working on the whole thing; until now we only were discussing gestalt, expresstion and other things related to computational objects – waaah. So today we got the assignment for the essay to write about all that stuff, then the bulsh*tting is hopefully cut. — read more ›
